The paving experts at Finley Asphalt & Concrete delivered high-quality asphalt resurfacing for another project in Gaithersburg, MD.
The trail system for the City of Gaithersburg needed some help at Washington Woods Park. The existing trail was old and was deteriorating quickly, so the city called us to have it fixed.
We met with them to determine options and told them what we thought the best solution was, which was a total resurfacing of the entire trail surface. The existing surface needed to be removed and replaced. They agreed with our solution and asked us to get the job in as soon as possible, as residents would be getting out and exercising more now that the weather is improving.
We started by milling the existing asphalt down to the base layer, then swept it clean and applied a tack coat. Then we used our small equipment that we use regularly, including path pavers and miniature dumpers (or dump trucks) to transport the new asphalt to the paving machine. Then the new asphalt surface was applied. We finished by the end of the weekend.
The new trail looks fantastic and local residents love it! Thanks for working with Finley Asphalt & Concrete!
