Finley Asphalt & Concrete was recently contracted to perform a parking lot asphalt milling and paving job for a HOA community in Virginia Beach, VA.
The homeowners association for this community is a long-time client of ours. We regularly perform parking lot maintenance on their property by doing a sealcoating project every three years. We also perform additional pothole repair and crack sealing as necessary. During our last visit, we recommended that due to the age of the parking lot, the top lay of asphalt should be milled and resurfaced with new pavement. The patchwork on the existing holes and cracks wasn’t going to hold up well if this large challenge was not addressed sometime in the relatively near future. The HOA set out their budget a couple of years and they were ready this year for us to come out and mill and pave the entire parking lot.
Our milling crew started work with a day’s head start before the paving crew. They started milling a day ahead so the paver could pave the entire lot in one day. We coordinated our timelines this way to minimize the impact on the HOA residents. We did tape off the perimeter prior to leaving, asking the HOA residents to not allow anyone to drive on the surface for at least 24 hours.
The resurfaced lot looks brand new and many residents commented on it as we were leaving the job site that day!
