The pavement specialists at Finley Asphalt & Concrete recently completed an asphalt milling and paving project in a drive lane and parking stalls for a townhouse neighborhood located in Yorktown, VA (one hour east of Richmond).
The homeowners association in York County VA was ready to make a move on the drive lane in the neighborhood as there were many problems throughout with standing water and some cracks that had developed. The parking stalls also were affected and were in need of re-striping. The HOA asked for referrals from the members for a reputable commercial paving company and many members recommended Finley. They called us to schedule a quote.
We met with a couple of the HOA members the next Monday. We determined that the parking lot was very flat and that the concrete valley gutters needed attention as well. The area was a candidate for a milling and paving job because the subgrade was still in good condition. We told them what we recommended be done with the lot and gave them a quote which we accepted.
Our crew got started the next Thursday. Our paving crew milled the entire drive lane surface and all of the parking stalls in sections then prepared the sub base. Our crew paved the entire surface after leveling the surface. We removed and replaced sections of concrete valley gutter to help with better drainage as well. Once the paving was complete, we added line striping to the parking lot stalls. The next day it rained and there was no standing water on the asphalt! The HOA members were pleased with the job!
