Project Overview
Finley Asphalt & Concrete completed an asphalt trail replacement project at a highway rest area in Woodbridge, Virginia. The project focused on refreshing designated walking areas by removing deteriorated asphalt and installing a new pavement surface.
The new asphalt was compacted to create a smooth, durable finish, while the seams between new and existing pavement were sealed to help protect against water intrusion. The completed improvements provided a refreshed and more consistent walking surface for visitors using the rest area.
Project Challenge
The existing asphalt trail showed signs of cracking and surface deterioration in several areas. The project required replacing the existing trail while working around surrounding landscaped areas and maintaining safe work areas during construction.
Scope of Work
Finley removed the existing asphalt trail and prepared the designated areas for new pavement. A new asphalt surface was then installed and compacted to create a smooth, durable finish. The seams between the new and existing pavement were also sealed to help protect against water intrusion, and work areas were barricaded throughout construction for public safety.
Project Outcome
The completed work provided a refreshed asphalt surface across the designated trail areas, creating a smoother and more consistent path throughout the rest area.
