Finley Asphalt & Concrete completed a large drainage system installation and asphalt milling and repaving project for a local school system near Alexandria VA (just 20 minutes south in Woodbridge, VA)
The track for our long time customer, Prince William County Schools, had major drainage issues at Potomac Middle School. There was a lot of pooling and cracks were beginning to appear around the areas with drainage problems. The school called us to have us take a look at what needed to be done and to schedule the project.
We came out the next morning to look at the track. We told the school’s property manager that by installing a drainage system, we could reduce the amount of moisture that impacts the granular layer and subgrade, increasing the life of the pavement and reducing risk of cracks and other problems.
We started the project off by addressing the surface drainage issues by installing a drainage system on the inside perimeter of the track, ensuring surface water is directed off of the surface and into the drainage structures.
Once the new drainage system was installed, we then milled the track and repaved it, followed by new line striping.
